Tungsten Carbide Application. Carbides are combinations of special metal powders and carbon to form very hard materials greater than hardened steel. They are therefore used in applications requiring extreme strength such as machine tool bits, drilling and mining operations. Longer tool life and good result can only be achieved by proper slection of carbide grade.
